BIS: CBDC Roll-outs may require changing The Constitution

The IMF is warning that with all these CBDCs about to launch, there need to be global inter-operability standards between them all, and they’re working on a global platform to facilitate just that.

“Legislation may need to be enacted or adjusted to specifically authorise the issuance and distribution of a retail CBDC (eg changes to central bank charters/statutes, legislation in other areas related to payments or to the constitution itself)”

The only escape hatch that comes to my mind is having a precious metals account that is either fully liquid, or almost liquid. Kirk Elliott, PhD (kirkelliottphd.com) will store the metals you purchase from him in a depository in Texas. If you need cash, call him up. He will sell the metals, and wire the funds to your bank account, in about 5 business days.

The United Precious Metals Association (upma.org) will also place the metals you purchase from them in a depository. A prepaid debit card is linked to the account. The card is loaded by selling some of the metals in their depository.

Then there is GlintPay.com, which also has a prepaid debit card linked to the account. The account is funded with a credit card or a wire transfer.
