Dr. Kenneth Goodman was the leader in arguing that phonics was stupid and you had to memorize sight-words if you wanted to read English. My own research convinced me that Goodman was a fraud and I've had a very low opinion of Arizona State U. since that time. Just the sort of place where transhumanism might fester.
