The Strait normally carries 20% of the world’s oil exports. On Friday, President Trump hailed his new deal with Venezuela as the “BIGGEST OIL DEAL IN WORLD HISTORY!”The so-called “Stop Nick Shirley” Act (AB 2624) has just been signed into law by CA Governor Newsom. The bill could make it a CRIME for citizen journalists, like Nick Shirley to expose fraud, mismanagement, or grift at taxpayer-funded non-profits. What does this mean for journalism and free speech?
Gun Owners of America (GOA), along with lead plaintiff Silencer Shop, made history as GOA members Brandon Herrera and Wes Virdell lawfully acquired suppressors without complying with the currently enjoined registration requirements of the National Firearms Act of 1934. This is a major win for gun rights.
Republican Governor Ron DeSantis said last week that law enforcement’s use of Flock cameras is “out of control” and called for legislative safeguards to protect Floridians’ privacy. The governor said systems like Flock Safety’s have expanded beyond toll collection into criminal surveillance, mostly run by local agencies. After the episode was filmed, DeSantis moved to get rid of them. Counties and cities are scrambling to follow suit.
